These are all words that describe speaking aloud for others to hear.
Psalm 96 is a call to actively use our voices to declare God’s glory and proclaim His salvation to the nations.
We are called to worship the LORD with our voices, singing and blessing His name.
Sing a new song to the LORD;
let the whole earth sing to the LORD.
Sing to the LORD, bless his name; (v. 1-2a CSB)
We are called to proclaim God’s great salvation each day.
Proclaim his salvation from day to day. (v. 2b CSB)
We are called to declare God’s glory among all nations.
Declare his glory among the nations,
his wondrous works among all peoples. (v. 3 CSB)
We are called to tell the nations that the LORD reigns with justice.
Say among the nations: “The LORD reigns.
The world is firmly established; it cannot be shaken.
He judges the peoples fairly.” (v. 10 CSB)
We are called to use our voices to worship the LORD and to invite the whole earth to do the same.
Ascribe to the LORD, you families of the peoples,
ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
Ascribe to the LORD the glory of his name;
bring an offering and enter his courts.
Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness;
let the whole earth tremble before him. (v. 7-9 CSB)
We will not be silent.
Father, I bless Your name. You are the LORD and You reign with justice. The whole earth is filled with Your glory. Show me how to take an active part in proclaiming Your salvation to all peoples among all nations. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
